From My Heart, Mind and Soul....

Think about it...

Relationships are wonderful! Sometimes they are a roller coaster ride filled with ups and downs. Sometimes they are on cruise control. But, when you come to a crossroads and have to decide which way to go, or if you come to a stop sign and know that it's best to obey the sign in front of you, they can sometimes become.....scary.
Hmmm, how can a relationship that you once vowed that you would love each other forever come to a point where you are scared to even be in the same room as that individual? There are several answers to that question that could take us in various directions. However, I can only speak from experience and my answer would be "abuse".
As sad as it is to even speak it, as sad as it is to even think about it, abuse is real and happens every day. Many times it is happening to someone that you may know.
I was watching an episode of "Snapped" last night and the episode was about a young lady who dismembered a certain body part from her father because she believed that "she needed to stop him from doing that to anyone else". WOW!!! The idea that she felt she needed to cut off his body part to stop him because she didn't know what else to do is frightening.
I know many times we hear persons say that they would never let anyone hit them or would never be in a situation like that. All I can say is "Never say never". I used to be adamant about never allowing a man to lay his hand on me until my college boyfriend pushed me against the wall and I banged my head on that concrete. At that point I realized that it can happen to anyone.
Abuse is never okay. Talk to someone. Seek help. Get out. Yes, people may say that love hurts. But, the truth is that true love heals and will never intentionally hurt you! Think about it!
